Architects Of Grace debut album "Moments In Time" digital release today

Architects Of Grace's debut album, 'Moments In Time', is available digitally today ahead of the physical release on May 30 2011. Written and recorded largely by Duncan Robert Illing, it demonstrates strength and substance, a soundtrack to a rollercoaster of experiences. The record also shows a determination to succeed totally independently. 'Moments In Time' is an accomplished debut and demands your ears.
While the album is mostly self-produced, Duncan was honoured to work with the legendary producer Dave M Allen (The Cure, Psychedelic Furs, The Chameleons, Sisters Of Mercy) on 'Oceans Of The Heart' and 'Tonight' and Phil English (Biffy Clyro) on the guitar assault of 'Hot White Sun'. These producers can now add Architects Of Grace to their impressive portfolio.

'Moments In Time' is released via Procession Recordings today (April 11). It is available via the Architects Of Grace official site for £8.99.

You can download 'Oceans Of The Heart' for free from the Architects Of Grace official site or watch the video below:

Esperi give away new mp3 & video

After the winter masterpiece that was 'Made For Life', velvet voiced multi-instrumentalist Esperi (aka Chris Lee-Marr) has returned with a track that's set to make your soul ache. The aptly named 'My Tear Dissolved The View' was inspired by the idea that there are some places that hold such beauty they can move you to tears. Written over ten years ago, Chris has created a moving instrumental piece that truly captures his initial inspiration.

Download it from his Soundcloud.

Single news from A Badge Of Friendship

A couple of pieces of singles news from the lovely people over at A Badge Of Friendship.

The first is Wayter, based in London but hailing from Argentina, Spain, Devon and Berkshire this four piece create a 60's psyche tinged sound with a muscular edge that has been compared to such luminaries as Slint and Fugazi. So, no pressure then lads!

'Twenty' is out on February 21:

This is followed a week later by 'Teenage Eyes' courtesy of Ex Libras. 'Teenage Eyes' follows on from the success of their debut album, 'Suite(s)' and its' counterpart EP, 'Cut(s)', which saw the lads re-imagining a selection of tracks from their first release into a hauntingly produced, and genuinely beautiful, musical masterpiece. The single is taken from the EP, and is representative of their stripped down, acoustic approach to the production process.

The Son(s)

I love a band with a bit of a backstory, a bit of mystique and The Son(s) (the parenthetical nature of the name becomes apparent if you read on) are just such a thing.

The Son(s) were three men in a band, in Edinburgh. One Son went to London, and made his fortune in the movies. Another Son went to Oxford and lives in a small commune there.
The last Son eventually went back to the North East of Scotland and wrote and recorded a self titled album of beautiful songs combining silky textured vocals with a guitar sound infused with Americana to create a sound that combines elements of Iron & Wine and Grizzly Bear with a liberal helping of The Beach Boys.

'Radar' is the first single to be pulled from this collection and is out on January 17, see it's somewhat disturbing video below:

If you like this, the album will be available in March.

Penguins Kill Polar Bears UK Tour

Penguins Kill Polar Bears are all set to embark on a UK tour over February and March 2011 to mark the release of their second EP, Vessels & Veins, which is out February 21st via Mountain Halo Records.

The lads kick off the tour on 24th February at Mad Hatters in Inverness before they celebrate the launch of their EP at Sneaky Pete's in Edinburgh on 26th February.

Vessels & Veins is a sweeping four track masterpiece, showcasing a band that are as comfortable with experimentation as they are tried and true rock formulae. Each track explodes into action, with walls of reverb-laden guitars layered over the top of throbbing percussion, and offset by lead singer Ben Proudlock's raw vocals. Their live show is sure to be a thrilling experience.
